March 15, 2008 - Cleburne Memorial The 24th Annual.
This
day is set aside to honor one of the greatest Generals of the "War
Between the States"! This is your opportunity to say thank you in
person to Gen. Cleburne. The ceremony will start at 11:00 and last about 40
minutes. All branches of military and period impressions welcome.
The Cleburne SCV Camp #1433, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, hosts this
event annually. This year's event it is co-sponsored with two other camps
the Shaver Camp #1655, of Jonesboro and the Newton
Camp #197, of Little Rock.
Civilian and ladies' welcome.
Artillery
is welcome but must contact before setting up and has to be on site before
10 am day of event. Walk on must to be at site before 11 am on the 19th.

2008 for Confederate Flag Day/Heritage Day, Arkansas State
Capital. It starts with a reading of those who gave their life to preserve
the Confederacy at 11:30.

'Women and the Civil War' Conference
Online registration, a downloadable brochure and even scholarship opportunities are now available for
Women at Gettysburg: The 10th Conference on Women and the Civil War,
scheduled for July 25-27, 2008 at Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
The conference, which is staged by the Society for Women and the Civil War, is open to the public for a nominal fee.
It features presentations on the lives and roles of women in the Civil War.
