Arkansas State Memorial - Vicksburg, MS

"To the Arkansas Confederate Soldiers and Sailors, a part of a nation divided by the sword and reunited at the altar of faith", reads the monument dedication to Arkansas at the Vicksburg National Military Park. Several markers in the battlefield commemorate the Arkansas units who fought there; including Bridges Arkansas Sharpshooter Battalion, Stirman's Arkansas Sharpshooter Battalion, and the 12th Arkansas Sharpshooter Battalion. As a part of the experience; next to the Park is the Battlefield Inn, a southern style Inn that is designed as a civil war battle site (complete with canons and a replicated cave dwelling.)
