Asa Wade didn't serve in "THE" 6th Arkansas Infantry, which served east of the Mississippi River. He served in the 39th (Cocke's) Arkansas Infantry, which was briefly designated as the 6th Trans-Mississippi Infantry, and erroneously as the 6th Arkansas Infantry. Asa Wade enlisted in (old) Co. G at Perryville, Arkansas, on July 4, 1862, and was appointed corporal. When the regiment was completely reorganized in the wake of the Prairie Grove fight, (old) Co. G became (new) Co. B, and Asa Wade was assigned to this new company as a sergeant. He served with this command to the end of the war, and was paroled at Shreveport, Louisiana, on June 8, 1865.

There's no record of an Edward Wade in this company, but there was a John and Thomas Wade in the company.
