Sometime ago I ran across a letter to the Adjutant General of Missouri, from Benjamin James Farmer, then of Camden, AR. The latter is dated around 1912 or so. In the letter Farmer relates that he served in the Missouri State Guard under Gen. M. Jeff Thompson, and that he had written his memoirs of his service that contained over 30,000 words. Has anyone ever seen any evidence that this memoir might still exist? I would love to find a copy.
