He had told me that my great grandpa served in the Confederate army. Also, my uncle said that my great grandpa had seveal brothers. When I asked about the brothers, my uncle said that there wasn't much news about the brother because "The Civil War split the family". I never really understood this, and I don't fully understand it now. It sounds like there were more families split in more ways beside the fact that they may have chose different sides to fight on or support. Thank you for giving me a place to make this statement.
