Hays, sounds like the soldier she's looking for may be a man carried on the rolls as Thomas C. "Linsey". He served as a corporal in Co. K, 25th Arkansas Infantry. Company was recruited in Arkansas County and was mustered into service at St. Charles on February 22, 1862.
