I recently visited a cemetary just outside of Star city Arkansas where a freind of mine has family buried. I was surprised to see several Iron crosses with the words Deo Vindice on them. Upon closer inspection of one I found a stone with the name Capt. James A Whitehead. I know I have heard this name before. Can anyone tell me what role in which battles he participated?
