Description: This site was initially used as a Union campground by U.S.
troops. When the troops left, the Confederates buried their dead on the west
side. It was subsequently purchased by the U.S. government for a military burial
ground of occupation troops. A wall was erected between Union and Confederate
sections but was taken down in 1913.

7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Visitor Services: Information; rest rooms.
Regularly Scheduled Events: April: Confederate Memorial Day; May: Memorial
Day; Nov.: Veterans Day.
Directions: From I-30: take the Roosevelt Rd. exit; go east three blocks
to Confederate Blvd. From I-430: take the Confederate Blvd. exit; go north about
