Description: Fort Southerland represents an excellently preserved example of
urban Civil War defensive earthworks erected along the periphery of Camden. They
were erected in 1864 in anticipation of a Federal attack from Little Rock.
Admission Fees: Free.
Open to Public: Daily: Sunrise to sunset.
Visitor Services: None.
Directions: From I-30 at Prescott: take State Hwy. 24 east to Camden; turn from
Hwy. 24 onto State Hwy. 4 Spur and follow 4 Spur and U.S. Hwy. 79 to Bradley
Ferry Road. Site is located two blocks down on left.
