Arkansas Post Museum & National Park

This stone was taken from ruins of old bank built at Arkansas Post in 1839. 

Arkansas Post State Park.  Created by act of Legislature 1929.  Introduced by Ballard Deane, Representative, Arkansas County.  Act signed by Harvey Parnell Governor.

If you have time to check out the museum, be sure and talk to Maria Jackson, who has worked

for the State Museum 3 years.  She will give you a wonderful tour and tell you all about the

buildings there...like the Harriet Carnes playhouse which is completely furnished with

child size furnishings built by her father, State Rep. Grover C. Carnes in the 1930's.
