I've nearly completed a book length manuscript with the working title of "Civil
War Animal Heroes: Mascots and War Horses." I'm tying up some loose ends, or at least trying to. I've heard that one Arkansas regiment had as a mascot at Shiloh/Pittsburg Landing a wild cat but I've been unable to verify this. Does anyone know the regiment or have any information on this? I'd welcome information on any other mascots/pets from other Alabama regiments. Thanks in advance.
